A new beer bar, wine bar and New American spot has debuted in the neighborhood. The newcomer to the West End, called Boxcar, is located at 1000 White St.

The new spot is located within West End’s Beltline district, which features several breweries and an open-container area. Boxcar offers up to 50 different beer selections on its menu, including the Funky Buddha Sticky Treats vanilla-like blonde ale and the Wicked Weed Choc Covered Black Angel American ale made of Montmorency cherries and Honduran cacao.

When it comes to food, expect everything from bison burgers to lamb and pumpkin polenta. Boxcar also offers vegan and gluten-free options.

With 4.5 stars out of nine reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Nicole B., who reviewed the new spot on March 11, wrote, “The aura is very lived-in and homey. Our waitress was extremely friendly and the food is delicious. The brussels sprouts were to die for and the fried chicken was a masterpiece. A little on the pricey side, but worth every penny!”

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Boxcar is open from 5 p.m.–10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday. (It’s closed on Monday and Tuesday.)
