Homemade shortcake with strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream will be served for $5 along with bottled water. Proceeds benefit the collaborative’s ministries. Since Yankee Homecoming’s theme is “Remembering our Past,” a “A Brief History of Our Collaborative” and tours of Immaculate Conception will be available at the festival.
The church is selling 300 raffle tickets for a three-night stay through Houseboats at Newburyport (www.houseboatsatnewburyport.com). Tickets: $10 each or five for $40. East ParishUnited Methodist
East Parish United Methodist Church, 8 Lafayette Road, Salisbury, offers a worship service at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 21.
Volunteers with musical talent are invited to sign up to present musical selections during the service as part of Special Summer Sundays.
For the rest of the summer with weather permitting, Fellowship Light — featuring coffee and lemonade — will follow worship in front of the church from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
The Rev. Charlottee Hendee’s schedule changed Wednesday, July 10. She will be in the office and make visits as needed on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until 2 or 3 p.m. The schedule may occasionally need to be adjusted. Her drop-in hour at Dunkin’ Donuts is now Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m., although she may switch to another location.
Each month, the church collects items for The Pettengill House food pantry and community members can participate. The program is also open to community members who wish to participate.

First Church of Christ, Scientist, 22 Inn St., Newburyport, presents its weekly Bible lesson on Sunday, July 21, at 10 a.m.
The lesson will consist of texts from the Old and New testaments with related passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy. Child care is available for babies and toddlers. Sunday School for children and teens is held at the same hour. Younger students learn Bible stories, the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount, while those in more advanced classes build on these early lessons and discuss how they are applicable to their own lives.
Wednesday evening meetings are from 7:30 to 8:30, with members and visitors sharing their gratitude for healings they received through Christian Science. The Christian Science Reading Room, also at 22 Inn St., is a bookstore offering Bibles, Bible translations and reference books, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” and other works by Mary Baker Eddy, and magazines with examples of contemporary spiritual healing. The First Religious Society, Unitarian Universalist, Newburyport, led by the Rev. Rebecca Bryan, does not hold worship services during the summer.
